TO CUSTOMER DEMAND for support for Microsoft’s
popular VB.NET language in Lexient’s code visualization,
analysis, and documentation tool, Lexient announced the newest
version of Surveyor, which includes a sophisticated syntactical
and semantic parsing engine for VB.NET.
A number of Lexient’s current customers requested that
Surveyor be extended to support VB.NET. These customers range
from consulting firms with projects entailing n-tier separation
and conversion from previous versions of VB to VB.NET, to corporate
IT organizations with changing maintenance and integration duties.
Surveyor is being used by these organizations to improve the
speed of completing maintenance projects at the same time that
they lower the risk of application failures.
“With the addition of VB.NET, Surveyor can better support
its clients who work on conversion, integration, or maintenance
in legacy and more modern languages, like VB.NET and need a
means of rapidly scoping, architecting, and closely collaborating
on projects” said Ward Geise, President of Lexient. “We
look forward to working closely with our customers to meet their
changing needs as they adjust in our rapidly changing industry.”
VB.NET is the 18th language that Surveyor supports, providing
an unparalleled means of working with source code from a variety
of systems, platforms, and eras.
