Philadelphia, PA - September 23, 2003  In an effort to control costs while not detracting from quality or timelines, InvestEdge, a leading wealth-management software provider, selected Surveyor from Lexient to aid their developers in performing intricate maintenance activities.

Due to an expanding customer base and increased volume requirements, InvestEdge recently experienced a need to resolve a performance slowdown caused by a 3rd party library. Since InvestEdge's developers did not originate this library, the best approach to eliminating this performance obstacle was unclear. Understanding the library's complex source code would take significant time and resources.

In order to quickly isolate and resolve this impediment, InvestEdge's CTO, Roland Collins, turned to Lexient. Surveyor, Lexient's code analysis, visualization, and documentation tool, helped Collins' team to identify where the problem was located, rapidly understand the complex code interactions, and repair the bug within days.  Within a month of using the tool, InvestEdge had achieved a positive payback on its investment in Surveyor.

"It would have taken us many weeks if not months to resolve this problem any other way", said Collins.
